About You:

The Job:

As a Creative Editor at Maverick, you will be given the opportunity to work with some of the biggest brands in the video games/entertainment industry.

Deliver the creative vision of project(s) and make creative decisions to deliver the most effective communications solution to the client brief. 

Role Summary:

  • Get immersed in the client brief and the Maverick creative treatment, across multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Shape and own creative storytelling content through video edits. Work with in-house creative team to deliver the creative vision for the project
  • Stay up to date with new edit and motion trends, applying these to work when suitable
  • Work with in-house post-team to create new and ensure existing post-production processes are being followed by both in-house and external talent – be the gatekeeper of best practice
  • Ownership of edits from pitch animatics through to final delivery.
  • Own QC and sign off on work with one frame vision. Spot errors and mistakes and instinctively work to resolve them.
  • Work on internal communications videos to help win pitches and promote the agency to new and existing clients
  • Proactively problem solving any issues in an edit and use learnings to inform in-house best practice
  • Work with other editors and motion creatives across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Brief and review work of freelance editors and motion creatives to ensure it meets Maverick standards
  • Make and check media versions.
  • Look after the project data.

Skills and Experience:

  • Hands on design, editing, motion skills.
  • Knowledge in grading and design would be ideal but not necessary.
  • Being able to work as part of a team and as a single player.
  • Able to create something out of nothing and able to meet client briefs.
  • Capability to work on everything from pitch to post.
  • Able to creatively meet and go beyond the clients’ expectations
  • Well organised with experience in media admin / management and quality control.
  • Great creative problem solver – thinks outside of the box.
